Frequently Asked Questions

  • Do I need to bring bear spray?
    • Probably not! We usually have some that guests can use, just check with us before you come.
  • Do I need bug spray?
    • Yes! Mosquitos can be active in Montana so we recommend bringing bug spray.
  • Should I bring any food if you’re cooking for us?
    • We recommend bringing any snack items that you might want. We will provide some personal chip bags for lunches but no other snacks.
  • What if I have dietary restrictions?
    • Please notify us of any dietary restrictions BEFORE your trip. We can typically accommodate them but we must know ahead of time.
  • Where can I buy alcohol?
    • Liquor is only sold at liquor stores and they are not very accessible from the Ranch. We highly recommend shopping for any alcohol in Kalispell, Hungry Horse, Cutbank, or Great Falls. There is a liquor store in Browning but the prices are significantly higher. Please note that liquor stores are closed on Sundays in Montana. Wine, beer, and seltzers are available in most stores and gas stations including one in East Glacier.
  • Can I do my laundry at the Ranch?
    • If you need to wash a few items, there is a washing machine on the property available for limited use. We recommend combining group members’ laundry to reduce the number of loads.
  • What is the weather like?
    • Check the weather for East Glacier Park on your weather app for a good estimate! However, the weather can vary, especially on hikes, so we recommend bringing layers.
  • Will I get cell service?
    • Probably not. We are in a remote area, close to Glacier National Park. This comes with some limitations to cell service. Verizon and T-mobile customers can often get service near our 3G booster in the lodge and at the top of the road off of the highway. AT&T customers typically do not get any service.
  • Is there wifi?
    • We currently have wifi through StarLink! The service is great but does not reach the entire property. The best place to connect to the internet is the Ranch House. We will give the password to the group coordinator and they can decide if they want to limit group usage. We highly recommend limiting internet usage to ensure the best vacation possible!
  • How do we pay?
    • Currently we only accept cash or checks.
  • Do you have any merchandise?
    • Yes! We currently offer T-shirts, vests, and mugs!
